From Nauru to the World
Fanny Tang, an accomplished artist born on the picturesque island of Nauru in the Central Pacific, has made waves in the art community with her vibrant and thought-provoking works. Formerly known as Pleasant Island, Nauru has shaped Fanny's unique perspective, blending her cultural heritage with her artistic vision.

Academic Foundations
Fanny's artistic journey began at the University of Calgary, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in oil painting. Her passion for art led her to Hong Kong, where she further honed her skills. In 2013, she completed her Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in the Fresco Department at the prestigious Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. This academic background laid a solid foundation for her diverse artistic practice.

A Global Presence
Fanny's work has transcended borders, with solo and group exhibitions held across Beijing, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the United States, and Canada. Each exhibition showcases her ability to weave together various influences and styles, reflecting her rich experiences across different cultures.

A Commitment to Innovation
Now residing in Vancouver, BC, Canada, Fanny continues to explore new dimensions of creativity. As a judge in an upcoming art competition, she emphasizes the importance of fostering innovation and embracing diverse perspectives. "Each entry reflects a unique voice and vision," she notes. "I look forward to witnessing the incredible talent and dedication of all participants."

GASCA Latest Event: 

GASCA Art Competition: The judges will make a comprehensive score based on the contestants’ creativity, painting skills and composition of the works. Each contestant will receive a score in each category, an overall score and a brief comment from the judges. It is hoped that the contestants will be encouraged and have a better understanding of their own painting characteristics and techniques. We also hope that all the contestants will continue to display their artistic talents and enhance their self-confidence through the art competition. 🌟

Scoring criteria: Painting group: Creativity (40%), Painting skills (30%), Composition of the work (30%) 

Calligraphy group: glyphs (50%), strokes (30%), chapter composition (20%)

Photography Group: Technique (30%), Emotion and Storytelling (40%), Overall Impression (30%)
