<The Pretender Under the Azure>
The Disguiser Beneath the Azure
This work is inspired by the chilling real stories I heard during beach cleanups. Plastic bags drifting in the ocean are often mistaken by sea turtles for jellyfish, leading to deadly consequences. To me, this is not distant news, but a real and ongoing crisis.
Using diluted acrylics, I depict plastic bags as light and translucent—seemingly harmless, yet deadly. It reflects a cruel “filtering”: turtles see survival, while humans see convenience.
When plastic replaces life and the ocean exists only in memory, what meaning does our convenience still have?
