<Where Is Our Ocean? — The Mechanical Ocean of 2060>

The ocean was once a vibrant world filled with living creatures, colors, and harmony. Yet today, human pollution and environmental destruction are slowly taking away the life of our seas. In this artwork, I imagine a future in the year 2060, when the real ocean animals have disappeared, and what remains are only mechanical creatures created by humans. In the painting, sharks, fish, and jellyfish appear as mechanical sea animals built from metal parts and artificial materials. Although they imitate the shapes of marine life, they no longer carry the warmth and spirit of living beings. These mechanical creatures represent a future where technology replaces nature, and where life becomes something manufactured rather than naturally born. At the bottom of the ocean, pieces of trash and waste are scattered across the seabed. They symbolize the silent destruction caused by human activity and remind us that pollution is one of the greatest threats to marine ecosystems. Through this imagined future, the artwork asks a simple but important question: Where is our ocean? If humans continue to harm the environment, the beautiful and living ocean may only exist in memories, museums, or artificial aquariums. This work hopes to inspire people to reflect on our relationship with nature and to protect the ocean before it is too late.
