Qualifications for finals:

Participants who score 80 points or more in the preliminary round will be qualified to enter the final round, and represent your region to Japan for the grand finale in August 2024!


Preliminary schedule:

The preliminary round will be conducted via video, and contestants are required to upload their entry videos, and the judges will evaluate their qualifications for the finals within three working days.

There are only two award levels for this preliminary round: 1. Advancement Honor Award (80 points or above) and 2. Merit Award (79 points or below). 
Participants who score 80 points or above will qualify for the finals, while those who score below 79 points will not advance to the finals.

The promotion results will be notified to the contestants via email three working days after they are uploaded. Contestants who qualify for the finals must complete the finals registration process and pay the finals entry fee before November 11.
Contestants who advance to the finals must go to the competition venue - Ushigome Tanori Concert Hall, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Japan, on December 2024-12, 24.

Preliminary prizes:

GASCA International Music Competition-Cultivating Talents Cash Award (Gold Award): A cash prize of HK$500 will be awarded to tutors who invite ten or more students.
GASCA International Music Competition-Cultivating Talents Cash Award (Silver Award):A cash prize of HK$250 will be awarded to tutors who invite five or more students.

Final Prize:

The overall winner (one person) will receive a cash prize of HK$2300 

The overall runner-up (one person) will receive a cash prize of HK$1600

The overall third runner-up (one person) will receive a cash prize of HK$780

Friends, mentors and family members of the contestants must purchase tickets if they want to watch the competition.Tickets for the competition are HK$150 and will be on sale on the official website in mid-July.Participants do not need to purchase tickets.There are 11 seats in the venue, there is no allocation of seats, and sales are on a first-come, first-served basis.

GASCA International Panel of Jury Member:

GASCA judges will make a comprehensive score based on the contestants' performance skills, interpretation style, musical sense and stage appeal.Each contestant will receive a score in each category, an overall score and the judges' comments.I hope that the contestants will be encouraged and have a better understanding of their own performance characteristics and skills.

Preliminary Rules

  • Entrants may use their own videos or work from other competitions, but the videos must have been shot after January 2024, 1.
  • Entrants are encouraged but not required to memorize their work.
  • Editing, special effects, or computer-edited productions are not permitted during recording.
  • Competitors must clearly record their entire performance and hand movements.If the judges cannot confirm whether the performance is performed directly by the contestant, the organizer reserves the right to require the contestant to resubmit the video or disqualify the contestant.
  • Competitors must not use inappropriate language or engage in obscene or indecent behavior during the competition.
  • Keep the camera still and don't shake or move it.
  • Competitors' clothing, hats, cosmetics, etc. will not be judged, but please participate in appropriate attire and grooming.
  • Contestants are strictly prohibited from declaring their age falsely.If an entrant's registration qualification is found to be inconsistent with the actual age, the entrant will be disqualified from the competition and the registration fee will not be refunded.

Final Rules

  • There is no dress code.
  • Feel free to choose any song.You are free to apply for the same song or different songs in the preliminary round and the final round.
  • The use of copied sheet music is prohibited. (Copies of originals are acceptable.)
  • Multiple songs can be played over a period of time.
  • Since there is only one piano on the playing field, a piano duet is not possible.
  • If you play an accompaniment piece in the finals, be sure to bring piano accompaniment.Contestants must arrange their own accompaniment and piano page turner.Ensembles with piano will also be judged.
  • For performances with piano accompaniment only the accompanist is late, and performances without piano accompaniment will also be accepted.
  • Participants must have all instruments ready.However, event organizers will provide a concert grand piano.
  • Please bring your own accessories (tuners, replacement strings, etc.).
  • If the set performance time is exceeded, a bell will ring to indicate the end of the performance.
  • Stop playback at that time.
  • After the show, please exit the wing of the stage and leave the building.We kindly ask for your cooperation and do not stay in the lobby.
  • Due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection, the planned lobby may not be available.In this case, it will be held at another location designated by the company.Additionally, we may instruct you to use a video screening format if the event cannot be held at the venue (including other venues).See the music competition website for the latest information.
  • All rights relating to the recording, distribution and sale of performances, reviews, workshop recordings, recordings, etc., performed in the GASCA International Music Competition belong to the organizers.
  • Videos of performances, reviews and workshops of the GASCA International Music Competition may be posted online without prior notice.
  • Filming or recording during competitions is prohibited.
  • The date and time of the judging will be determined by the sponsor.
  • Additional reservations and cancellations will be posted on the organizer's website if required.
  • There is no parking lot.Please come by public transport.
  • Preschool children are not allowed in the halls.Also, if it is determined that a contestant will be disturbed by crying, etc., we may ask them to leave the room.
  • All travel and accommodation expenses are borne by the participants themselves.
  • No refunds will be given after application for any reason.

If the judges believe that the contestants in this group have not reached the award-winning level, no award ranking and prizes for that ranking will be awarded.


Winners will receive a free electronic certificate with the contestant’s name printed on it.If you want to obtain a certificate/medal/trophy, an additional fee of HK$120 is required, and the mailed medal/trophy will not be printed with the participant's name.If you want to print the medal/trophy with the participant's name, you need to pay a handling fee of HK$300.Applicants are also required to pay the SF Express freight on their own.The production time takes 2-3 months.If you can’t wait, the association does not recommend applying for exclusive certificates/medals/trophies.

Final Awards:

each group: champion (one), awarded to the contestant with the corresponding highest score, will be awarded a certificate and a trophy.

runner up (one), awarded to the corresponding contestant with the second highest score, will receive a certificate and a pennant.

Second runner-up (one): Awarded to the corresponding contestant with the third highest score, one certificate and one pennant will be awarded.

Honor Award: The top XNUMX% of the contestants - will receive a certificate and a pennant.

Merit Award:The next XNUMX% of the participants - will receive a certificate and a pennant.

Outstanding Teacher Award, Tokyo Music Competition - Mentors of the top three winners in each group will be awarded a certificate and a trophy.

Japan Tokyo Music Competition-Cultivation Excellence Silver Award: If you invite five or more students, you will receive a bonus of HK$250 and a certificate.

Japan Tokyo Music Competition - Cultivation Excellence Gold Award: If you invite ten or more students, you will receive a bonus of HK$500 and a certificate.

Japan Tokyo Music Competition - Education Award: The school/education center invites ten or more students to participate in each group of competitions, and can get a certificate and a trophy
