Competition rules: 
  • Contestants can choose their own subject matter and choose to write in pencil, blue or black ballpoint pen, and the font of the work is not limited.
  • Entries must be handwritten by the contestants. Any works by non-participants, including ghostwriting, will be disqualified.
  • After review by judges, we may invite the winners to write in person. If absent, the award will be cancelled.
  • Contestants must upload a group photo of their work
  • Hard pen calligraphy: The writing paper provided by the conference must be used. After downloading from the website, it must be printed on one side of A4 white paper. When printing, it must be printed in 100% original size.
  • Brush calligraphy: Participants can write on rice paper.
  • Contestants are strictly prohibited from falsely reporting their age. If the contestant's registration qualifications are found to be inconsistent with the true age, the contestants will be disqualified and no refund for the entry fee will be offered.
  • Participants must not have participated in other competitions in their videos/works.Anyone who publishes, publishes or publishes the entries in public newspapers, online or other competitions in any form before the announcement of the results of the competition will be disqualified from the competition.
Scoring criteria:

The score ranges from 0-100 points.
Glyph-Well-proportioned, square, stable and compact 50%
Strokes- Whether the pen is strong, the ratio of length to short and the angle of the stroke 30%
Chapter-Whether the overall layout is consistent, smooth and natural 20%
The judge will give the scores based on the overall performance in the criteria as listed above.
Decisions of the judge is final and may not be challenged.
Awards:

  • Champion, First runner-up and Second runner-up (one each): Winners will receive an e-certificate and eligible to apply for a trophy.
  • Distinction Award (above 85 points): Awarded to contestants with distinction performance, winners will receive an e-certificate and eligible to apply for a medal..
  • Outstanding Award (over 70 points):Contestants who have achieved outstanding performance will receive a certificate and eligible to apply for a medal.
  • Participation Award: All contestants will be issued an e-participation certificate.
  • Award for Active Participation in Asian Calligraphy Competition (Silver Award):Instructors who invite 150 students to participate in each group of competitions will receive an e-certificate, eligible to apply for a trophy and USDXNUMX/HKDXNUMX/JPYXNUMX cash reward.
  • Award for Active Participation in Asian Calligraphy Competition (Gold Award)Instructors who invite 300 students to participate in each group of competitions will receive an e-certificate, eligible to apply for a trophy and USDXNUMX/HKDXNUMX/JPYXNUMX cash reward.
  • Asia Outstanding Calligraphy Instructor AwardAwarded to the instructors whose student won the championship, first runner-up and second runner-up, the instructor will receive an e-certificate and eligible to apply for a trophy.
  • Asia Outstanding Calligraphy Education AwardThe school/education center invites ten or more students to participate in each group of competitions and will receive a certificate and a trophy (the school/education center needs to submit the award application form).
  • All contestants will receive e-certificates by email. Champion, First runner up and second runner up winners can apply for the tailor-made trophy with their name printed on it with a fee of USD120/HKD300/JPY2. Distinction and Outstanding Award winners are eligible to apply for the tailor-made medal with their name printed on it with a fee of USD3/HKDXNUMX/JPYXNUMX. The rest of the winners may upgrade their e-certificate to hard copy (paper) certificate at USDXNUMX/HKDXNUMX/JPYXNUMX. Shipping fee would be charged separately according to the local postal fee or international postal fee. It is highly advised that contestants shall consider the production time required before applying for any of the above extra services.

** Participants must fill in the name, email and phone number of the tutor/institution/school or education center for confirmation when registering; the name of the tutor/institution/school or education center cannot be added after the results are announced.
Other conditions :

  • Entries must not contain obscene, violent, pornographic, slanderous, unhealthy, insulting elements, or any content that is controversial and inappropriate.
  • The organizer reserves the right to reject entries that are inappropriate, irrelevant to the theme of the competition, or submitted in the incorrect format.
  • Entries cannot contain commercial or political promotion elements.
  • If a contestant is disqualified, the entry fee will not be refunded.
  • All entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Application of minor contestants must obtain the consent of their parents or legal guardians to register for the competition and submit entries through their parents or guardians.
  • Contestants are strictly prohibited from falsely reporting their age. If the contestant's registration qualifications are found to be inconsistent with the true age, the contestants will be disqualified and no refund for the entry fee will be offered.
  • Contestants (including parents and teachers of minor contestants) must understand and agree to the rules and regulations of this competition. If a contestant violates any competition rules, the organizer and the judging committee have the right to disqualify their enrollment.
  • Once registered to participate in this competition, it means that the participants have agreed and authorized the Association to retain and use the photos and videos of the participants in the competition for educational and promotional purposes, including all publications of the Association, the Association’s website and social networking sites; and In our publications, including our website and social networking sites, publish and announce the names and relevant information of the winners.
  • The organizer reserves the right of final interpretation of the general rules and regulations of the competition. If the terms and conditions are not perfect, the organizer reserves the right to revise them at any time.
