Course Introduction
The teacher will introduce the history and cultural background of "shimenawa": it is widely hung in front of doors during the Japanese New Year to ward off evil spirits, protect the home, and bring good fortune. In addition to learning how to shape it with straw, decorate it with red berries and geometric patterns, tie it with gold/red ribbons and wishing sticks, students will also understand its important meaning in Japanese family rituals.
The instructor will explain the history and cultural significance of shimenawa: widely displayed during New Year to ward off misfortune, protect the household, and invite blessings. Participants will learn to form the straw ring, add red berries and geometric accents, tie gold/red ribbons, and attach a wish tag—while understanding its role in Japanese family rituals.

⏰ Punctuality & Group Policy
Please arrive at the venue at the designated time for check-in and pick-up; latecomers will not be waited for, and you are not allowed to leave the group midway. If you leave the group midway, it will be considered as abandoning the remaining activities, and no refund will be given.
Please arrive and pick up your child at the scheduled times. The program will start promptly—late arrivals or mid-session departures will be considered forfeiture of participation, and no refunds will be given.

🌦️ Force Majeure
In case of venue issues or unforeseen circumstances, the route will be replaced with content of the same level or adjusted accordingly; if temporary changes are necessary, you will be notified as soon as possible.
In case of unforeseen circumstances or venue changes, equivalent arrangements will be made. Participants will be notified promptly of any necessary adjustments.
