Your work will be judged by Anime Art Academy's lecturers, Mana, Komatsu Ryu and Satoru Tanaka, all of whom have many years of experience working in the Manga and Anime industry. Among other achievements, they have received official awards from the famous'Shounen Jump 'magazine and worked on huge hit anime such as Naruto Shippuden.

Working as an illustrator since her teens, Mana has had experience working on the production of many popular games. Her work has been included in Square Enix's magazine, and she has received a prize from Mag Garden.

Toshina is an illustrator working in Tokyo. As a teenager, Toshina received an official manga award from Shounen Jump, and since then has been working as a professional manga-ka and illustrator, gathering a huge following on the Japanese illustrator site Pixiv, and draw ing crowds of fans to his exhibitions.

Satoru Tanaka

Former professional freelance animator, Satoru has worked on huge hit anime such as Naruto Shippuden and Heroman. His work has gained significant popularity online too; becoming the top ranked fan artist in his category on Japanese illustration site Pixiv, and taking the number one spot Nico Nico Douga with his Hatsune Miku PV.

Manga author and illustrator.'Hello everyone, I'm Komatsu Ryu.As an introduction to me and my style of work, I think the most simple and important method for self-improvement when studying art is the feeling of love. When it comes to study, love is power.
If you want to get better, find an anime that love, and draw your favourite characters or scenes from that anime as much as you can. The passion you have for those characters will certainly show in your work, and it will give you the motivation and energy to continue working hard.'

Each judging work:

Competition rules: 
  • All works must be hand-drawn or computer-drawn.
  • All works must be original works and have never been publicly released.
  • There are no restrictions on the tools and paints of hand-painted works. You can freely choose wood colors, crayons, oil pastels, watercolors, advertising colors, plastic colors, etc., but photos and images are not accepted.
  • The original production file format of computer graphics must be a JPEG or PNG file with 300dpi or above; the organizer reserves the right not to accept any work that does not meet the specified specifications.
  • Computer graphics are not allowed to use computer software patterns (for example: Clip Art, etc.).
  • All entries must not contain obscene or indecent content, and must not contain personal attacks, defamation, personal/commodity/religious/political propaganda, otherwise the organizer may disqualify the entries.
  • Participants must ensure that their entries will not infringe the intellectual property rights of others.
  • The Association has the right to use the entries submitted by participants for non-profit purposes, and has the right to modify, translate, adapt, use, copy and distribute all or part of the content of the entries without the prior consent of the participants. Charge any fees.
  • All entries will not be returned.
Awards terms and conditions: 

**Tokyo Anime Art Academy courses must be logged in with GMAIL email account. For this competition, a valid Gmail email must be provided in the registration form. If you fail to provide GMAIL email account, your qualification will be cancelled. The Association and Japan Tokyo Anime Art Academy will not make any coordination or compensation for this

Champion, runner-up and third runner-up (one for each): Participants with the corresponding highest scores will be awarded a certificate from the Japan Anime Art Academy, and a total value of HK$1120. Japan Anime Art Academy video art courses and cash coupons* , The details of the prizes are as follows:

1. Japan Animation Art Academy Subscription Video Animation Art Course-10 lessons in total, valued at HK$560

2. And an additional HK$560 cash voucher is applicable to the advanced animation art video course of Japan Animation Art Academy

Merit Award (above 80 points): Awarded to participants who have achieved outstanding performance, they will receive a certificate and a medal from the Japan Animation Art Academy

Participation Award (79.9 points or less): All participants will receive an e-participation certificate issued by the Japan Anime Art Academy

The electronic certificate will be available for download in your GASCA account on the day of the award announcement.

Certificates and medals sent by mail will be sent to the registered address within two months after the announcement date.

The video art course at the Japan Anime Art Academy will begin as soon as the winner completes the registration process.

Active Participation Award in the Asian Art Competition (Silver Award): If you invite five or more students to participate in each category of the instructor*, you will receive a HK$200 bonus (the instructor needs to submit the award application form by himself).

Active participation in the Asian Art Competition Mentoring Award (Gold Award): If you invite ten or more students to participate in the instructor* of each group of competitions, you will receive a HK$500 bonus* (the instructor needs to submit the award application form by himself).

* Participants must fill in the name, email and phone number of the tutor/institution/school or education center for confirmation when registering; the name of the tutor/institution/school or education center will not be added after the results are announced.

If the judges believe that the contestants in this group have not reached the award-winning level, no award ranking and prizes for that ranking will be awarded.

**The total value of the prize is US$140, and the amount in Hong Kong dollars is for reference only.

**Video courses are conducted in English, and the content will not be translated into Chinese or other languages. All classes are provided by Tokyo Anime Art Academy. Drawing Competition:
Creativity (40%) - Originality of the work - Unique personal style - Combining creativity and different materials/media to create the artwork
Drawing/coloring skills (20%) - Master the presentation of the shape and texture of the objects in the artwork - The sense of balance when creating the work - Control of light and shadow, bright parts and reflective parts - Present the texture of the surface through the uses of line
Color usage (20%) - Vividness of color usage - Distribution of color layers - Create mood and to express an emotion through the usage of color
Composition of work (20%) - The distinction between major and minor elements - Coordination of overall composition

  • The judge will give the scores based on the above criteria.
  • The results of the competition will be calculated based on the average score of the judges, with two digits after the decimal point.
  • Decisions of the judge is final and may not be challenged.
  • GASCA will select the top 5 contestants in each age group and enter the final round of judging. The winners will be selected by the Japan Anime Art Academy.

  • Once all participants have registered for the competition, there is no refund of any entry fees for this competition.
  • Entries must not contain obscene, violent, pornographic, slanderous, unhealthy, insulting elements, or any content that is controversial and inappropriate.
  • The video courses are conducted in English, and the content will not be translated into Chinese. All classes are provided by Tokyo Anime Art Academy. We have no right to modify the course content. For example, Tokyo Anime Art Academy cannot provide courses for any reason. The agency is not responsible.
  • The organizer reserves the right to reject entries that are inappropriate, irrelevant to the theme of the competition, or submitted in the incorrect format.
  • Entries cannot contain commercial or political promotion elements.
  • Entries must be original and will not infringe the rights of third parties (including intellectual property rights, rights of confidentiality or privacy). Any violation of the rules will be disqualified from participating or winning. If the entries violate any laws, all legal responsibilities will be borne by the contestants, and the organizer will not be held responsible.
  • Application of minor contestants must obtain the consent of their parents or legal guardians to register for the competition and submit entries through their parents or guardians.
  • Participants are strictly prohibited from falsely reporting their age. If the participant’s registration qualifications are found to be inconsistent with the true age, the organizer and the judging committee have the right to cancel the participant’s qualification for the relevant events.
  • Contestants (including parents and teachers of minor contestants) must understand and agree to the rules and regulations of this competition. If a contestant violates any competition rules, the organizer and the judging committee have the right to disqualify their enrollment.
  • The organizer reserves the right of final interpretation of the general rules and regulations of the competition. If there is any dispute about this event, the organizer's ruling shall be the final ruling, and no one may object.
  • Once the participant submits his work for the competition, he agrees to accept all the terms and conditions of the competition.If the organizer believes that there is any violation of the relevant terms and conditions of the contest, it reserves the right to cancel the qualification of the contestant at any time.
